Meet Your Mountain Walkshop

Ridges of Resilience

Tryfan / Striding Edge

June/July 2025

Our next Meet Your Mountain Walkshop, will be in June or July 2025. Please could you fill in this short survey regarding the Walkshop and date

Hey everyone, I’ve had a lot of people ask about the next Walkshop. I’d love to run a walkshop every day if I could, but the lessons learned from the first two is that I want to ensure that we have a solid group who can make a date, before offering it to the wider public.

You are here because you are one of the ‘inner circle’, a select group of a few people who are committed to getting onto a walkshop as soon as you can make the date.

Our Walkshops will still be the intro rate of £150 per place (inclusive of VAT) for the rest of 2025- I think this is a bargain for both a day out taking on incredible mountain routes, and also a full day to work on and develop yourself. There will be an option to pay a deposit up front (£25) and the rest of the balance before the day.

The Dates…

I will offer a selection of dates in the questionnaire - please indicate ALL of the dates that you can do. Note that the original date was Monday 23rd June, which I know some can do, and some can’t - but I will be looking to use this date if I can.

I would also ask that if you do select some dates, this is a committment to joining me on that walkshop, should that date be chosen! Life gets in the way sometimes (I know, right), but please select dates with an intention to sign up once a date is confirmed.

From the responses, I will look to put on an event on dates where we have the most number of people. IF we have more than one date where more than three (different) people can attend, then I will look to put on more than one event.

The Route

There is also a question around whether you want to do the ‘Ridges of Resilience’ route of Tryfan and the Bochlwyd horseshoe in Snowdoina which we had pencilled in for 23rd June, OR the original Meet Your Mountain route of Striding Edge and Swirral Edge in the Lake District. I’ve created an FAQ for each, but in brief:

Striding Edge is a great beginner route that I am confident that anyone who doesn’t mind a bit of hillwalking will be able to do. It will certainly push you out of your comfort zone if it is your first time on big mountains, but it’s a good introduction to scrambling, whilst never being overly exposed or difficult. Check out the details here.

Tryfan is what I would call airy and hairy! It is a brilliant day out, but there is a fair bit of feeling like you’re clinging to the side of a mountain (hint: You are). If you’re not great with heights, and have avoided them all you life, then this isn’t the first one you should be taking on! BUT if you’re up for a big challenge, this is the one for you. Details about Tryfan are here.

I’ve given an option as well for people who want to do one, but don’t mind which, or if people fancy doing both, should dates for both be available.

The Poll

Please help me out by indicating the dates you’d be available for the Walkshop:
